Identity design for the 33rd New York African Film Festival. This year’s festival identity emphasizes resilience and renewal in the aftermath of colonialism, environmental degradation, and displacement throughout Africa and her diaspora. 

At the center of the identity is a starburst shape, symbolic of the power to alchemize circumstance into something new, demonstrated across the diaspora. 

Layered with a patterend background and sentimental imagery, the resulting artwork illustrates the deep ancestral connection in this current era of disrupting and reshaping physical, spiritual, and societal landscapes.
