About
Originally from Detroit, MI, Kayla Battle moved to Brooklyn after earning her BFA in Graphic Design from Western Michigan University. 
In her work, Kayla employs expressive typography and illustration to create dynamic and narrative visual systems. Her skills in hand-lettering, type design, and 2-D illustration give her work a distinctly human feel. 
Kayla especially takes pleasure in assisting other creatives' in realizing their visions and uplifting the missions of community organizations.  
She currently works as an in-house graphic designer, occasionally taking on inspiring freelance projects.
